It's good to be "Square"!

Quinn recently had his 6 month check-up and he was 16 pounds 13 ounces and 27 inches tall! This put him squarely in the 69th percentile. We decided to celebrate with his first taste of real food.

Hungry baby? check.

Organic whole grain rice cereal? Check.
Quinn seemed to think that eating food was hilarious! With every bite he would belly laugh.
Happy and full....just a little messy.

Tea time!

Yesterday Jack and Quinn were embracing their 1/16th British heritage! I'm not sure what sparked the need for high tea, but Jack was quite the host. He made sure there was a tablecloth (his beloved blue blanky), a centerpiece (left over from our spring decorating), and even some tiny "tea light" candles. What can I say? He must actually pay attention when Mommy obsesses over party details!

Quinn seemed to enjoy this social event!

Perhaps he's even ready to trade in the bottle for a teacup?

If you're in the area around four o'clock, feel free to stop in and I'm certain Jack will be willing to steep you a pot of tea. Just be forewarned that he only serves "spider tea" and "cobweb" bickies!
Cheerio!!

BiG man on campus!

It hardly seems possible that our "baby G" is starting Pre-school today! He was very excited to start class with Ms. Lynn and the big kids. We only had about 15 seconds in our morning rush to snap a few shots of G before he was off and running, I guess he didn't want to be late on his first day!

Grant picked out his favorite "G-cute" jeans for the first day.

And then he was off like a flash!

He was sure to have all the necessary school supplies in hand...Train? Check. Hotwheel car? Check. OK, I'm ready!

And a backpack as big as he is.

Have a great first day biG man!!!!

The M says Mmmmmmm!

With only a few lazy days of summer left we are packing in some last minute treats! Here's a little peek into what's cooking at our home today.

There isn't much better than warm cookies right out of the oven.....or is there?

Two warm cookies + cold icecream= Yummmm!!!!

Quinn will have to settle for a milk mustache for awhile yet.

The most smoochable cheeks I've seen!

Our resident food critic gives them his approval!

Bon Apetit!!

MiSo CuTe!

We are back from our summer break! We have been so busy with tons of summertime fun that the blog has been neglected! Be sure to check back for some catch-up posts of Quinns baptism, our trip to Hershey and Jack's back to school projects!

In the meantime, here are a few pics from our date night dinner. "Date night" with three kids under the age of 5 usually means take-out since the logisitics (and finances!) of hiring a sitter for three can be a little daunting. Grant has always had a complex palate. I would not be a bit surprised if he turns out to be the next Emeril. He had been eyeing up my sushi and I was a bit shocked when he said, "I eat sus-si too". I should also add that he wanted the wasabi laden soy sauce on it!

Don't all dogs play on swingsets?

I've received several requests for pictures of our amazing sliding cocker. I have to admit it may be slightly unsettling to look out the window and see her happily climbing up the ladder and sliding down, or hanging out in the treehouse with nobody around.....but I'm glad we are able to entertain her none the less.

The smile that lights up our day!

Don't blink! Or you might just miss this little one growing up! I'm always amazed, and a wee bit saddened, at how quickly a squishy little newborn turns into a miniature human. Quinn has been smiling for a few weeks now, and our efforts at getting a grin are almost always rewarded with a warm smile and sometimes with the most delightful sound of first baby giggles. Having a bad day? Take two looks at these and call us in the morning....

If your wondering....that's twelve pounds of pure love right there!

Bless the USA!

We love a parade in our little family! For Memorial Day this year we celebrated our patriotic spirit at a local small town parade. The boys had lots of fun waving their red, white and blue. Although the parade was a tad bit on the short side, Jack declared it the "best parade ever" because it had a tuba and a firetruck.

Showing off our red, white and blue!

We are getting quite the collection of pictures of Quinn sleeping through various events! What can we say? It's a lot of work to make those deliciously chubby baby thighs!

The gift of sunshine

Last week was teacher's appreciation week and we just couldn't let that pass without a little treat to show Mrs. W how much we appreciate all her hard work! When I asked Jack what he thought we should do to thank his teacher he replied, "We should give her the sun!". After thinking about that one for a little bit, this is the best Mommy could do....what do you think? Looks pretty "sunny" to me!
I love the expression on Jack's face in this picture, beaming with pride!

Where the wild things are.

Here it is! The long awaited playset is finally built! I can't even convey the pure joy and excitement that was on the boys faces as they ran towards it the first time....priceless. We have barely been able to pry them away to eat, sleep and bathe over the last 4 days! Here's a few pictures from the last few days. And yes, Ella does get up in the fort by herself! How does she get down? The slide of course!
There is even a baby swing for Q...once he packs on a few more pounds!

Jack says all we need to add is a pool at the end of the slide!
