We are back from our summer break! We have been so busy with tons of summertime fun that the blog has been neglected! Be sure to check back for some catch-up posts of Quinns baptism, our trip to Hershey and Jack's back to school projects!
In the meantime, here are a few pics from our date night dinner. "Date night" with three kids under the age of 5 usually means take-out since the logisitics (and finances!) of hiring a sitter for three can be a little daunting. Grant has always had a complex palate. I would not be a bit surprised if he turns out to be the next Emeril. He had been eyeing up my sushi and I was a bit shocked when he said, "I eat sus-si too". I should also add that he wanted the wasabi laden soy sauce on it!
I've received several requests for pictures of our amazing sliding cocker. I have to admit it may be slightly unsettling to look out the window and see her happilyclimbing up the ladder and sliding down, or hanging out in the treehouse with nobody around.....but I'm glad we are able to entertain her none the less.
Don't blink! Or you might just miss this little one growing up! I'm always amazed, and a wee bit saddened, at how quickly a squishy little newborn turns into a miniature human. Quinn has been smiling for a few weeks now, and our efforts at getting a grin are almost always rewarded with a warm smile and sometimes with the most delightful sound of first baby giggles. Having a bad day? Take two looks at these and call us in the morning....
If your wondering....that's twelve pounds of pure love right there!
We love a parade in our little family! For Memorial Day this year we celebrated our patriotic spirit at a local small town parade. The boys had lots of fun waving their red, white and blue. Although the parade was a tad bit on the short side, Jack declared it the "best parade ever" because it had a tuba and a firetruck.
Showing off our red, white and blue!
We are getting quite the collection of pictures of Quinn sleeping through various events! What can we say? It's a lot of work to make those deliciously chubby baby thighs!
Last week was teacher's appreciation week and we just couldn't let that pass without a little treat to show Mrs. W how much we appreciate all her hard work! When I asked Jack what he thought we should do to thank his teacher he replied, "We should give her the sun!". After thinking about that one for a little bit, this is the best Mommy could do....what do you think? Looks pretty "sunny" to me!
I love the expression on Jack's face in this picture, beaming with pride!
Here it is! The long awaited playset is finally built! I can't even convey the pure joy and excitement that was on the boys faces as they ran towards it the first time....priceless. We have barely been able to pry them away to eat, sleep and bathe over the last 4 days! Here's a few pictures from the last few days. And yes, Ella does get up in the fort by herself! How does she get down? The slide of course!
There is even a baby swing for Q...once he packs on a few more pounds!
Jack says all we need to add is a pool at the end of the slide!
